Green Builder Magazine - Homeowner's Handbook (a repost of sorts)

GreenBuilder Magazine has published a Homeowner’s Handbook and instructed its clients to share it with our customers as you can see from the above image ripped from their cover.

I love to read magazines and books with this type of content.  As a professional in the field it helps put the ebbs and flows of Green initiated construction into understandable terms, as well as shine light on what the greater marketing minds in our industry feel the consumer public is really interested in.

Over the next year I intend to generate a series of posts that will emulate the GreenBuilder Magazine format.

The Rough Outline of what is to follow:

  • The Green Building Pyramid
  • Roofing
  • Structure
  • Siding (or Exterior finishes for those who still like stone and the like)
  • Insulation
  • Air Control
  • Windows
  • Heating Systems
  • Appliances
  • Faucets and Fixtures
  • Cabinetry
  • Clean Finishes
  • Alternative Energy

The introduction essentially states that this publication can serve as point of information for consumers to compensate for the lack of time, effort and knowledge of building professionals.  That is essentially what I hope to accomplish through our blog.  Some posts will be long and detail oriented and others will be smaller snippets.  We’ve got lots of imagery and video that I hope will make it a valuable experience for you.

Hope you enjoy.
